The stress resulting from the event is more substantial than the stress that people occasionally experience in that it disrupts daily functioning. Anyone can experience an Adjustment Disorder after a particularly stressful or traumatic event. The disorder has the potential to develop into other mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, or other trauma-related disorders.
