Through First Domino Pediatric Behavioral Therapy, I focus on training parents of children diagnosed with a variety of developmental disabilities or behavioral concerns. By empowering the parents to create environments of success for their children, we can more accurately pinpoint skills that need to be taught and, perhaps more importantly, overarching behavioral repertoires that lead to efficient development. These skills include compliance, tolerance of not getting what a child wants right away, flexibility with routine change, functional communication, and social imitation skills I utilize Applied Behavior Analysis to help create these environments of success for their child and empowering the parent. I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Training to focus on current thoughts/private events that may cause stress for the parent and hinder their ability to best help their child develop.
