Therapist Overview
I’ve always been intrigued when I‘ve come across a cairn on a hiking trail. They’ve always seemed like a tremendous gift, a show of support left by someone who’s been there before you and wants you to also succeed on your trek. And so I use a cairn to identify my practice, as a reminder that we all can appreciate a marker to help guide us in the right direction at various points in our lives. We often reach that “fork in the road” during expected or surprising life transitions. Adolescence, bereavement, trauma and growing older are just some of the changes that find us in new territory and upend our sense of stability. Much of my counseling experience has involved adolescents, ‘tweens and young adults through my 14 years of working as an Interventionist in the Boulder Valley schools. I’ve worked with adults and families as well. Although treatment is different for each client, I use brief therapy (goal oriented) and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) to guide my work. I und
