Therapist Overview
Being a human on this planet may bring difficulties that can have a major impact on how we live, how we love, how we work, and how we play. Life’s challenges, losses, and traumas can leave us feeling lost, alone, disconnected, damaged, stuck, and unable to live to our fullest capacity, in spite of our best efforts. These challenges can permeate all aspects of life, including: relationships, work, our sense of identity and how we live in the world. Sometimes we need a professional and non-judgmental ally in restoring and preserving emotional and relational well-being, so that we can live more fully and authentically. I believe that you are the expert of yourself and I offer a present-oriented, strengths-based, and creative treatment approach, that is inclusive of how your development and past influences may be playing out now – usually out of awareness – in a way that although was once an adaptive means of coping, no longer serves you in the present. My work is informed by training in Gestalt Therapy, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and Existential approaches, experience as a yoga teacher/practitioner, and my early background in the performing arts. I look forward to collaborating with you to uncover and reclaim your whole self, with all the creativity, spontaneity, ease and joy that are your birthright.
