A psychologist has a doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in psychology. After graduate school, they complete a multi-year internship. They do not have medical degrees. So, although they can treat mental health disorders, they cannot perform medical procedures or prescribe medications. As a result, they typically work with a psychiatrist or other medical doctor.

If you’re looking for a psychologist you can use our vetted directory of mental health professionals to find psychologists in your area. Start your journey below.

As a psychologist I use a cognitive-behavioral approach, bringing attention to the cycle of thoughts, feelings, and actions that drive our overall state of well-being. Understanding and working on that cycle can help reduce feelings of anxiety, depression, and anger, and lead to more positive regard for ourselves and stronger relationships with the people in our lives. I want to help you feel...

It can be rather disheartening to expend considerable energy trying to change something and be left with a similar outcome. It is not easy to lead a fulfilling life while being caught in patterns outside of awareness. Psychotherapy gives the opportunity to look inward and ask how a fleeting thought, a dream, or a subtle change may be related to ongoing difficulties. Taking a closer look at...

"We are born in relationship. We grow in relationship. We are wounded in relationship. And we are healed in relationship." In relationships we find acceptance, identity, meaning, and connection. I believe that emotional growth stems from a secure, genuine and connected relationship, and therefore my work involves attending to and developing each therapeutic connection. I work to provide a safe...
