Therapist Overview
Point-No-Point Counseling is a statement of perspective. My practice is a Person Centered approach. The perspective of my client and context of my client’s life is the core of the counseling experience. My client is the point of reference and while in counseling I count myself as a small and temporary part of the context of my client’s life. The interplay of perspective and context act on one another to shape our understandings of happiness, sadness or ambivalence. We shape our world our world shapes us. The perspective of my client and the context of my client’s life is what matters to me. That’s my “Point”. I have training and experience with individual and family therapy. I use Bowen Family therapy along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when working with Families and Couples. My work with individuals can include these tools and also often uses Mindfulness and Somatic meditations focused on enhancing self-awareness and emotional regulation. Sometimes everything seems important. Sometimes one thing seems more important than anything else. Sometimes nothing seems to matter mater at all. You are not alone. Though I may not have experience your exact circumstance, I would like to hear your story. I would like to help.
