Therapy is about being pushed outside our comfort zones to grow and flourish in all areas of life. It involves taking a leap into the new and unknown territory of emotions and vulnerability. This may mean looking at the difficult parts of ourselves and our stories in order to move forward. It’s “short term discomfort, long term benefit”. Therapy is tough, yet beautifully rewarding work! Talking about emotions can be heavy, so it is my mission to create a space for you that feels warm and welcoming. It’s important for you to feel comfortable in therapy so that coming to sessions isn’t scary! My primary approach to therapy is Person Centered, which means that I am here to help you feel heard, understood, and supported. Therapy doesn’t have to be serious all of the time; there can be moments of light-heartedness and fun. I use a sense of humor and analogies to connect as well as evidenced based therapies including ACT, CBT, and DBT. It is my honor and great joy to incorporate faith and spirituality into therapy sessions for those clients who share a personal value in their faith.
