Scott Heuer

In addition to traditional behavioral techniques, I specialize in a strengths-based approach to counseling. I work with clients of all ages, genders and sexual orientations, with a special interest in LGBTQ+ concerns. As an individual in recovery myself, I also have a personal interest in working with individuals impacted by addiction. As well as working with the trials and tribulations of the addiction itself, I work with the Client to teach how to identify, and address, the underlying stressors to their addiction. I believe in the strength of personal empowerment as I partner with others to achieve their fullest potential. We often become too focused on our prior mistakes. This stuck-ness can lead to thinking in ways that are limiting and pathologizing, and ultimately can constrict our choices and daily living. ​ In our work together we’ll focus on individual choices and the “here and now” to get you moving in the direction you want to go. Together we can work on discovering what you really want for yourself, and imagine the possibilities that exist within YOU.
