Therapist Overview

In the counseling relationship, I view myself as a collaborator, advocate, and nurturer. I seek opportunities to better support and empower clients on their journey towards a more hopeful, healthier life. My mission as a therapist is to help families/clients that are stressed out or overwhelmed or struggling with a variety of areas such as social situations, grief, anger management, and divorce. I do not provide custody evaluations and am not an expert witness as defined by the legal system. The sessions are unstructured and client-led. By pulling from various theories, I help clients identify problem areas and create more effective strategies to resolve issues. I find myself using cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, play therapy, and trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I believe that all children have the resources available to enable them to grow into functional and emotionally healthy adults. The sessions will be designed to meet the individual needs of the child to the best of my ability.
