Therapist Overview

Have you ever felt better after a having a deep conversation? I view psychotherapy, which is largely a talk-therapy, as just that–having a deep conversation with someone. Only here, within the confidential confines of the consulting room, you are having said deep conversations with a licensed mental health professional, such as myself. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, so I place primacy of mental health on interpersonal relationships. I also received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, which had an emphasis on what is known as Depth Psychology. I have worked in community mental health and public behavioral health settings since 2010 in various capacities: health educator, HIV-testing counselor, substance abuse prevention counselor, nonprofit middle-manager, community organizer, case worker, and mental health clinician. As a depth psychologically informed licensed marriage and family therapist, I consider relationships to be the primary measure of mental health and wellness. Whether seeing an individual, a couple, family or group, my clinical orientation will always consider the emotional and symbolic depths of relational experience.
