Mikelle Powers

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work, both from The Ohio State University. I have worked primarily with adults in both community mental health and private practice settings, who are experiencing behavioral and mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, crisis, grief and loss, relationship and identity challenges, major life transitions, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. I have experience utilizing different therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness and relaxation techniques. I feel honored to be invited into some of the most difficult times of clients’ lives. I believe the most important aspect of a therapeutic relationship is for the client to know they have someone on their team while doing the hard work to reach their goals. I will always take a nonjudgmental, holistic, and strengths-based approach in treatment.
