Therapist Overview
With over 25 years of experience, I have helped many people handle life’s most severe crises and go on to grow and flourish. My emphasis is on the possibilities in every situation and the potential in every person. I work with adults of all ages, 15 yrs+; couples & families. To reassure you that I am qualified, I am on the faculty of Yale School of Medicine, a Fulbright Scholar in Clinical Psychology, a member of the American Family Therapy Academy & former faculty at Smith College. My relational and optimistic approach emphasizes listening, respect, dialogue, empathy and compassion. Many people begin feeling better after a few meetings: more alive, more hopeful and more empowered. I am effective with depression, anxiety, early psychosis, the impact of trauma and more general life crises and transitions. These are tough times but therapy can help. My work has earned me an international reputation. I train mental health clinicians and regularly am invited to give keynotes, plenaries & workshops nationally & internationally in Europe, Asia & Latin America. Licensed in CT & MA.
