Therapist Overview
Kids just want to be heard. I empower my clients to feel comfortable opening up to tell their side of the story so I can help them to improve daily life. I have been in the field of education for 20 years (elementary/middle school teacher and current school counselor) and have learned how to build relationships with my students/clients that are comfortable and trusting. A trusting relationship is where change starts to happen! Parents are included in the process of therapy in order to have a full circle approach to tackling the child’s biggest challenges. My focus is on children, adolescents and young adult age groups. I specialize in working with clients with ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD/Trauma, loss and Divorce. My practice provides an easy going, trauma sensitive approach that builds an open atmosphere where each and every client know they can open up and speak to me on their level, using their language. My goal is to make working with a therapist comfortable. I incorporate play therapy techniques as well as other hands-on and “fun” methods of making therapy progress. We aren’t alone in experiencing life’s challenges; I too have been there. The journey of life is puzzling. I effort to be a resource and guiding light to assist your child in finding their own and unique way. I’d love the opportunity to meet you!
