Therapist Overview
Anxiety, the most common mental health problem in the US, can get in the way of the pursuit of a meaningful and well-lived life. At my practice, District Anxiety Center, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other evidenced-based practices to address anxiety and related disorders, target what’s causing you distress, and help you to live a fuller, richer life. I want to better understand your core values and how anxiety interferes in your life. From there, we can collaboratively craft a treatment plan that is focused and goal-oriented, using techniques that have the support of research to decrease anxiety. I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders in teens and adults. I have 20 years of experience applying CBT and related evidenced-based treatments, including Exposure Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to social anxiety, OCD, phobias, panic, generalized anxiety, health anxiety, and BFRBs. To make meaningful change in life, it’s necessary to interrupt the cycle of negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As both an individual and group therapist, I take a warm but goal-oriented approach to working collaboratively with my patients, emphasizing strengths and overall wellness, and enjoying humor when it can find its way into our sessions.
