Therapist Overview
People who I see for individual therapy are usually facing turmoil either due to current stressors or past issues that keep surfacing and prevent them from moving forward in their lives. Often, people tell me that they feel “stuck” and need direction/guidance. By working with me they identify their inner strengths and capabilities; they feel confident in themselves to take on challenges that come their way. In therapy we identify things that should change because what they are doing currently is not working for them. We problem solve and discuss ways to make their present meaningful. I am a board certified clinical psychologist and specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy for depression and anxiety management, individual psychotherapy for trauma (EMDR/ART), women’s mental health, pre-surgical bariatric psychological evaluations, couple’s/family therapy, and telepsychology. I have competence in working diverse and ethnic minorities. I like to meet my clients where they are at and build a strong rapport with them so they feel comfortable in sharing their personal issues and concerns with me. I believe that the therapeutic relationship and the right “fit” with a therapist are key for therapy to be successful. I use evidenced based treatments that have the best efficacy.
