Therapist Overview
I have provided individual and group therapy to college students at Southwestern College in the areas of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, test anxiety, assertive communication, self-esteem, time management and emotional regulation skills. I also have clinical experience at an impatient setting where I have facilitated individual and group therapy as well as crisis management through the completion of safety plans. Further, I have been part of ongoing research which helps support families in weight management at UCSD for several years. I use research based interventions of CBT and DBT and other modalities in the treatment of anxiety and depression for children, teens and adults. I empower patients to re-discover their internal strengths to increase resiliency and self-efficacy. I have specialized knowledge of family work through my experience at UCSD. I am bilingual/bicultural and provides counseling services in both English and Spanish. I look forward to helping families who are first generation from Mexico or other countries. I joined Grow Through Life Counseling in 2019 to help children, teens and families in the Chula Vista area. I look forward to meeting you! Now offering Telehealth!
