Therapist Overview
My approach to counseling is supportive and growth oriented. I combine over 20 years of experience in a variety of social service settings with a firm belief that every human being has infinite potential, though sometimes undiscovered. Finding strengths and building on them to create a foundation that sustains the challenges life offers is my focus. I am a Rhode Island licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in women’s issues, treating victims of domestic violence, trauma (including EMDR treatment for children and adults), grief, and stress management. I provide individual, family, and couples therapy across the lifespan. Life is filled with challenges. Even children sometimes face trauma that causes them anxiety and, if unresolved, can affect our lives as adults. When life causes stress and pain as anxiety, depression, work and relationship stress, therapy can help. I use several different therapy techniques to help clients manage emotional challenges and life stressors. If you feel alone in your experience, if you feel like you have no one that is truly listening, if you feel like you can’t find a way out of the hole you are in, therapy can help. I am skilled in a number of therapeutic techniques so I can tailor the treatment to your specific needs.
