David Sard

I am an experienced clinical psychologist, trained in working with adults, children, and families. I am experienced in assessment and treatment, working in the various mental health systems – medical, educational, forensic, etc. I have learned that what is really helpful to people at all stages of life is to feel that someone appreciates what they are going through. I try to treat each person as an individual. Sometimes people are not clear about what they want. I try to give clients the freedom to explore themselves without having to measure up to the therapist’ expectations. My experience includes working with parent-child problems, early childhood problems, educational problems, sexual problems, and issues of identity (in work and interpersonally). My approach is psychodynamic, in other words, I rely on self-exploration. It is sometimes difficult to find a good fit with therapist and client. If that is the case I will be glad to help clients find someone they are comfortable with.
