We serve individuals with all types of disabilities – providing mental/behavioral health counseling that incorporates the independent living philosophy and ensures full participation in the counseling process. Counseling DIRECTions uses a peer support model that targets the unique, unmet needs of individuals with both disability and mental health-related concerns and goals. Core elements focus on self-discovery, autonomy, disability identity and acceptance, and includes behavior change, mental health, and a sense of purpose, stress management, and social support. Dr. Gabrielle Ficchi a licensed associate counselor as well as a certified rehabilitation counselor. Gabrielle has seven years of both teaching and counseling experience. Her specialty and research areas focus on disability adjustment, independent living, resilience and disability identity.
