Therapist Overview
I strongly believe the hardest opponent we will ever face as an athlete is ourselves. Do you beat yourself up with negative self-talk, criticize every move you make, hold onto losses or errors for extended periods of time? Maybe you are experiencing a mental block or the sport you love is starting to create more anxiety than enjoyment? At the Institute of Sports Performance, we have worked with some of the best athletes and teams across the country including Olympians, NBA, MLB, NFL, and Division I programs. I was a college softball player, fitness competitor, strength trainer, and played women’s football. I specialize in treating current or former athletes ages 6 to adult that are struggling with sports anxiety, poor confidence, slumps, mental blocks, life, and college transitions. I use sports psychology and CBT methods to increase focus, manage thoughts/emotions, create solid goals, routines, and become healthier in and out of the game. Athletes are apart of a “failure is not an option” culture. The hardest part is understanding that failure is apart of success. If you are struggling to play at your full potential, the pressure is getting the best of you, or not coping well with being done with your athletic career please reach out, I am ready to listen and ready to help!
