Therapist Overview
Ideal clients will understand they are the expert in their own lives; I am merely here to walk alongside them in their journey. Common issues include previous trauma (e.g. sexual abuse, interpersonal violence), anxiety, depression, and chronic stress as well as parenting and developing structure in the home. Goals range from decreasing levels of anxiety and depression to eliminating intrusive traumatic memories and nightmares. Coming to therapy without a “real” goal is absolutely okay too! We can work together to figure out what is realistic for your circumstances. I find the mind-body connection to be especially fascinating and am passionate about educating others on how Adverse Childhood Experiences impact physical and emotional well-being later in life. Formal training in both child and adult trauma models helps me address concerns such as stress, emotional stability, and physical health. I believe the therapeutic relationship is sometimes more meaningful than what is actually discussed during therapy. I value client choice and autonomy in deciding how I can best support you in reaching your goals. I am honored that so many people allow me the privilege of hearing their stories.
