Therapist Overview
There are times when navigating life’s difficulties can be especially challenging and you’re not quite sure how you’ll get through. You may be feeling overwhelmed with stressful situations, facing periods of transition, experiencing anxiety and/or depression, reeling from a break-up, inundated by waves of grief, or feeling stuck in dysfunctional family life. There’s no doubt that you’re doing the best you know how to do to cope with difficult emotions, yet you’re still finding that you’re struggling to function in daily life like you used to or want to. Reaching out for help is the first step in taking charge of your wellbeing. For the past six years, I have worked with clients who experience depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, suicidal thoughts, psychotic symptoms, trauma, addiction in the family, and relationship problems. My main focus has been on young adults, which has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the special circumstances this age group faces. I work to help the client develop insight into the problem(s) and effective coping skills to move forward successfully. I can help you change unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns with the use of skills from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and self-compassion.
