Therapist Overview

Effective therapy can help you understand yourself, build relationships, find greater meaning in life, and improve your self-esteem. Within a nonjudgmental, affirming, and collaborative therapeutic space, we can work to understand the meanings behind your thoughts and feelings. This treatment does not only address symptoms but also offers a way to make lasting changes. I primarily work with undergraduate and graduate students and young people in their 20s and 30s to address the following: anxiety, depression, relational concerns, gender and sexuality, a wish for more self-knowledge, shame and fear that impact the ability to live a fuller life, work and school issues, and childhood trauma. I tailor my approach to the needs of each client, and work to understand and change core issues causing distress. I use psychodynamic, strengths-based, cultural, and feminist therapy to appreciate each person’s life experience. My style is warm, welcoming, and direct, always with the understanding that you are the expert on your own life.
