Growing up as a man in society brings unique gender, gender norms, and gender expression problems. Western culture brings with it sometimes unhelpful messages about masculinity: that men must be tough, not show emotions, enact violence, and gain power and status. Men are less likely to seek out mental health therapists than other genders. Men must recognize seeking treatment for mental health concerns doesn’t make them less masculine or manly. It implies that they acknowledge that their health is vital.
Available Treatment Options
Counselors can help men work through the hesitancy to talk about mental health within therapy sessions. Some men may benefit from seeing a therapist who also identifies as a man, as the shared knowledge of the impact of their gender can facilitate the healing process.

Accepting new clients.* Everyone is innately whole. However, we may find it difficult in today's society to live authentically and in wholeness. Do you ever have questions about the true nature of who you are? Or wonder about how to break free from all...
I strive to create an environment where you can explore, engage, and rewrite your life-script. We all live from our own unique scripts, the stories we tell ourselves everyday about who we are, where we come from, and what we're capable of. Sometimes these scripts trap us in behaviors and states of mind that harm us and keep us from living a rich life. In counseling, we engage these bad scripts,...

It may seem like things come easier to...
