Are You Struggling With Domestic Violence?

Domestic violence includes any type of abuse — physical, sexual, emotional, spiritual, etc. — or any combination of these carried out by an intimate partner. Domestic violence is immensely harmful to the victim, but counseling can assist in their recovery.

Survivors of domestic violence may require more concrete support, such as food, clothing, and shelter. Counselors can help connect them to the resources they need while also providing a safe environment to process the hurt and abuse. Survivors may need more intensive psychotherapy for trauma, depending on their circumstances.

Available Treatment Options

Therapist interventions include identifying unhelpful thought patterns, such as those of self-blame, developing confidence and self-esteem, brainstorming healthy coping mechanisms, and readjusting to life without domestic violence.
