Career counseling assists people in finding the right career path for them. It includes discovering skills, honing in on specific interests and aptitudes, and researching meaningful ways for people to do the work that suits them best. If someone questions their career or work choices, a career counselor will administer tests, including inventories about personality, skills, and strengths. The therapist will then educate the client about career fields, industries, or companies that have jobs that align. They can then work with the person to develop specific skills for that job, such as effective communication, interpersonal skills, and time management.
