In my 23 years of working with families, I have seen tremendous growth occur in the context of a supportive therapeutic relationship. By exploring one’s inner landscape of emotions and desires as well as one’s life experiences and circumstances, one can grow toward deeper self-awareness, enriched relationships, and healthy approaches to challenging life experiences. I value each person’s distinct experience and goals, working collaboratively to create a path towards growth and healing. Just as luminaria light a path, so I create a therapeutic environment that can help light one’s own path towards growth. I am a multilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, and English), bicultural Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked for over 20 years with families, children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. I have worked in various settings: a pediatric developmental center, home visiting therapy program, early intervention system, community mental health. I have worked extensively with acculturation issues; perinatal mood disorder; family adjustment issues; infant mental health; attachment challenges; and trauma including childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, and neglect. The range of families I’ve dedicated my work with include children who are typically and atypically developing.
