Cynthia Ruth Leach

I graduated from the Smith College School for Social Work in 1991. I have practiced clinical social work for the past twenty five years. I am a licensed clinical social worker with extensive training in inpatient psychiatric facilities such as Yale, outpatient child guidance clinics as well as nineteen years as a school social worker. I am especially skilled in working with adolescents, adults, and couples. I use mindfulness based stress reduction and supportive psychotherapy to work with individuals who are struggling with trauma issues, anxiety and depression. My specialty area stems from a vast experience of mindfulness based stress reduction and certification in yoga. When working with adolescents and adults my focus is on calming the individual’s central nervous system. Use of breath work, guided imagery, cognitive behavioral therapy and supportive psychotherapy are strategies that help an individual manage their lives.
