Jodi W. Engelstein

I am licensed by the state of Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH#16580). I also am licensed in North Carolina as a Professional Counselor (License #10919). I am recognized as a Nationally Certified Counselor, (1996). I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling Psychology from Nova Southeastern University (1992) and a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University (1985). My professional memberships include the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association, the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina, the American Counseling Association and The National Board of Certified Counselors. I have served different populations while practicing, including children, adolescents, families, couples, and adults for over 25 years. I have worked with these populations in an array of different settings, including home, school, office, residential facilities, and courts . I utilize a strength based/client centered approach when working with clients. Our therapeutic relationship will always be based on unconditional positive regard, respect and empathy. I will actively listen to you; your story, your thoughts, your feelings, your reactions with acceptance and validation. I will mentor, support, and guide you with direction. Your goals in therapy will always stand as building blocks for the work we do.
