Therapist Overview
Are you interested in developing skills that will help you better manage your emotions and behavior and support your resilience? Using a non-judgmental approach, I work empathically with each client in helping build on core values and toward life goals, and teach skills informed by evidence-based practice. My experience includes working with veterans, as well as with college age students and adults–anyone dealing with difficult emotions, challenging life situations or transitions, or the impact of trauma. My training includes awareness of the special needs of older adults who are experiencing the impact of aging, loss, and grief. My focus in the first session is on answering your questions, eliciting your concerns and goals, and establishing a plan for going forward. As a LICSW (licensed clinical social worker) I provide individual therapy and group facilitation, and have been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). Working collaboratively and based on your goals, I will work with you on enhancing your strengths while helping you develop healthy coping tools. I use a cognitive behavioral, skills-based, and mindfulness-informed approach, and can help you address problems associated with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, and substance use.
