Annette Helmcamp, PhD, PLLC

I am a Licensed Psychologist providing counseling to individuals including adolescents, college students, adults, and military veterans. In addition, I have experience assessing and treating individuals coping with a variety of issues including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, women’s issues, parenting issues, grief, and retirement. My approach is individualized according to the needs and issues being addressed in counseling. I recognize taking the first step for help takes courage and collaborate with individuals in establishing goals that are meaningful towards improving their quality of life. My theoretical orientation incorporates an eclectic approach to counseling that includes cognitive behavioral strategies with mindfulness based techniques. I encourage individuals to incorporate enjoyable, healthy activities in their life to help manage stress. The overall goal is to improve quality of life and strategies for managing adversities in life. My down to earth, friendly manner helps individuals feel comfortable and accepted. I take a compassionate and sometimes humorous approach towards issues that can be distressing and sometimes overwhelming in life. I’m centrally located in West Plano near the North Dallas Tollway with easy access from Plano, The Colony, Frisco, and Carrollton.
