You live in a quiet state of desperation. On paper your life looks really good. Others see you and think you have everything going for you. They want to be like you and think their life would be easier if they were. You are outgoing and wear a smile. But they don’t understand what they can’t see. They don’t see you. They don’t see the pain that you feel. You know that other people won’t understand. You learned a long time ago to hide it. Everyday you wake up and put on a mask. You push yourself harder to accomplish more. Yet you know that none of it will work. I help young overachievers, who are exhausted from being misunderstood to let their guard down and discover what life can be like without having to hide their pain. My clients experience change not just in their pain but in their relationships, career and how they feel about themselves. There won’t be worksheets or gimmicks but there will be humor. My clients typically see me weekly so that they have consistent support and can move out of feeling like they are in crisis. I often integrate meditation and stories into my work so that you have the tools to help you find calm in your day to day. Therapy doesn’t have to feel scary and hard. It can feel like the breath of fresh air you have been gasping for.
