Therapist Overview
Some of my most fulfilling work has been the time I’ve spent with families who have children facing chronic and life-limiting illnesses. I particularly enjoy helping those struggling to maintain balance in their lives as they work to define what quality of life means for themselves and for their families. The social worker in me also thrives through my therapy practice, as I focus on providing resources that may offer additional supports and direction to help manage the layers of needs that arise with medically complex scenarios. I use a variety of evidence-based approaches with children and adult clients. I specialize in anticipatory grief, loss, and bereavement. In addition to direct therapy work, I offer care-coordination services which include resources, education, and referrals to ensure a comprehensive approach to best help clients reach their goals. Research shows that the single most important indicator in the effectiveness of therapy is the quality of the therapist/client relationship. The feedback I receive from my clients is consistent with this research. Therapeutic rapport is my favorite thing about counseling.
