Therapist Overview
We all have a story to tell. Our lives are full of hopes and dreams, fears and struggles. No matter if the client in front of me is a five year old child, a couple in their 30’s, or a sixty year old man, we all need someone to listen and support us. I consider myself to be an empathetic therapist. I want to support my client as best I can in their life journey. I also know that it isn’t easy to go to therapy and I want to be someone who starts with where the client is at, but also know that I can be direct at times if needed, and softer at other times. I have worked with children, adolescents, couples, and families. My hope in working with a client is that they learn something new in the session that sheds some light, and gives a sense of hope for their given situation. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and assign homework to clients when the situation fits, other times I utilize art and a more experimental form of therapy. I cater the session to the moment. I know that it takes a few sessions to build rapport, and I am patient. I also know that the goal from the very first session is to eventually end therapy, so I am always aware of goals changing but being reached.
