Therapist Overview
I believe that we learn, struggle, fail, grieve, endure, and thrive best in the context of relationship. But even with the hope of connection, accepting the invitation of relationship may feel risky. Being seen and honoredānot in spite of the unseen parts of you, but because of themācan feel upending, even dangerous. In a culture that by and large fosters virtual engagement over physical presence, this therapeutic work invites us back into our bodies, and back into genuine connection with ourselves and others. When we are aware of our emotional and bodily experience, we then gain the ability to regulate that experience. I approach counseling through relational, psychodynamic, and anti-oppressive lenses, engaging many pathways toward healing, including evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. I most align with queer and feminist theories, and engage community, society, and the world from a culturally-critical perspective. At times, our work together may feel complex or disorientingāother times, it may feel delightfully simple. As a queer/nonbinary person, I have come to learn and believe that we become ourselves when we consciously embrace the invitation of both/and. Regardless of how you identify, I invite you to get in touch with me. I look forward to connectingāthank you.
