We all experience stress in our lives, but sometimes that stress is overwhelming and we have trouble coping. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) can be an incredibly effective tool to help manage anxiety, depression, and other stress-related difficulties. CBT focuses on the relationship between one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in everyday life. As a cognitive-behavioral therapist, my approach is collaborative, individualized, and based on scientific evidence. It is difficult to change one’s distressing emotions directly. CBT works by modifying the way we think and/or behave, which then changes the we experience these emotions. This approach is skills-based and relies on a collaborative relationship between the therapist and client. I am passionate about helping individuals learn these useful CBT skills. Ultimately, the goal is for my clients to become their own therapists, using the skills they learn to manage any difficult situation that life throws at them.
