Therapist Overview
Is your child struggling with behaviors at home or at school? Are transitions (such as bedtime or changes in routine) hard to manage? Is your teen acting distant, angry, or unreachable? I may be able to help. I specialize in working with children ages 5-18. I can work with parents to help solve problems with their children, provide support for the difficulty of parenting, and psychoeducation about the challenges their child is facing. I can also see the family as a group to work through challenges in the relationships. I have experience with clients who struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm and suicidality. I use talk therapy, play therapy, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), meditation, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). EMDR is a specialized trauma-focused therapy that helps people work through trauma to regain stability, emotional regulation, and lessen the overall impact on their lives. I can do this with children and adults. My practice is a part of Jewish Family and Childrenās Service of Minneapolis, which is located in Golden Valley. People do not have to be Jewish to become clients. We have immediate openings for people of all ages. Call or e-mail me to learn more, or to schedule an intake session.
