Therapist Overview
I don’t give advice, or know what is best for you. I believe it is my job to help you figure out why you do the things you do, what you are feeling and why, and to close the gaps between the blank spots in understanding, feeling, and doing so that you can inhabit your life and your self more fully. This is a process that requires patience and perseverance, and my aim is to help you feel free enough to express all that is inside without judgment, inattention, or finality, so that you can experience yourself and your feelings, including joy, pain, and everything in between, with equanimity, curiosity, and increased aliveness. In addition to utilizing psychodynamic/psychoanalytic and relational perspectives to explore and make sense of our inner worlds, I am committed to investigating and helping to make reparative use of the ways race, racism, ethnicity, class, sexuality and gender inform our senses of self and other, and have created traumatized spaces in our brains and bodies. I graduated from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in 2015, and completed the Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at the William Alanson White Institute in 2019. Before we meet in person, a phone consultation can help us figure out if we might be a good fit for each other.
