Therapist Overview

Before I became a psychotherapist, I had a career as a professional diplomat, and I served in different countries. Having been exposed to diverse cultures in the course of my life, I am particularly attuned to the varieties of narratives that shape people’s identities and relationships with self and others. In my work with each client, I aim to bring my unique personal and professional perspectives into our therapeutic dialogue. I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore how old patterns—that might no longer serve them—repeat in the present and foreclose future growth. My primary treatment orientation is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, though I recognize that people have different needs and may benefit from adjunctive modalities. Hence, I utilize an integrative approach to support each individual in their own way. My client population is young adults and adults (including their ”inner children”)—individuals and couples. Using active and empathic listening—and a dose of humor, if appropriate—I aim to help my clients gain insights, find resources, and cultivate a toolkit to better cope with the ebb and flow of their reality and to live a more meaningful, purposeful, pleasurable life. Please reach out if you are interested in exploring the possibility of working together.
