Are You Struggling With Giftedness?

Giftedness is a category assigned to children who perform or excel in something at levels much higher than their peers. Gifted children may have a particular affinity for math, reading, art, or another task or subject. They often need to be challenged at a higher level to recognize their potential. Sometimes, gifted children also have Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or other mental health concerns.

Available Treatment Options

Therapist interventions for gifted children include helping children and families understand their unique abilities, develop these abilities, and incorporate this sense of giftedness into an identity that allows the child to reach their potential. If gifted children struggle with another mental health concern, counseling can help them address it simultaneously.
