I am happy to help with referrals at this time. Psychotherapy is a process for relieving emotional distress by restoring and cultivating its participants' inborn capacities for thought and growth. Everyone engages with the world in idiosyncratic ways developed over the course of his or her path through life, and emotional suffering results when such adaptive measures go awry or no longer serve their original purpose. Repetitive unsatisfying relationships, low self esteem, anxiety, and other psychological symptoms can be alleviated when their origins are understood and reworked in the context of a supportive therapeutic relationship. I specialize in the psychoanalytic treatment of emotional issues, which entails investigating the root causes of one's ways of being in the world, and examining these via immersion in a therapeutic relationship. In such work aspects of a patient's self are able to be brought to light and thought about in new ways that promote growth. I am a candidate in psychoanalysis at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute. I welcome inquiries from potential clients interested in improving their emotional lives through the mutual investigation and understanding of their past, present, and future.
