**Not accepting new clients until 06/2021** In my practice, I draw on my experience and training―but I believe the most effective psychotherapy focuses on developing fulfilling and meaningful connections. Research has shown repeatedly that the therapeutic alliance between therapist and client is a significant predictor in the success of therapy. When exploring psychotherapy, I encourage you to meet with more than one therapist and to ask potential therapists questions about their personal process. Therapy is most successful when you feel comfortable and safe with your therapist, so we will work together to ensure that we are the right fit to form a therapeutic relationship―this “getting to know each other” process can take a few sessions. One of my first jobs was teaching people how to fly airplanes. Lionel, a janitor retiring from a nearby school, came to learn as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to fly. I taught Lionel to fly and he taught me that it is never too late to achieve the dreams we have for ourselves. My approach to therapy is very similar – we learn and grow together.
