I believe strongly that the therapeutic relationship is paramount in attaining benefit from psychotherapy. Feeling safe, validated, and heard are incredibly important. A sense of trust, as well as having a supportive, and open environment are foundational in beginning the process of unpacking, sorting, and addressing what has brought you to this moment. Essentially, your connection with your therapist matters. My approach is person-centered, with hopes of being able to meet you where you are, with a therapeutic orientation that is intuitive in nature. I am familiar with, and draw from various perspectives and types of therapy. Often including narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, prolonged exposure, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I lean toward systems theory, with a humanistic perspective, aiming to be mindful of intersecting identities, the environmental, and experiential layers. I understand it can take some time to find a therapist who is a good fit for you, who you feel you can truly sit with, and let into your head space. Peruse some profiles, get a sense of the therapists out there, and reach out when you're ready. As your therapist, we can work toward regaining balance, and hopefully making life feel more manageable.
