Losing someone or something important to you can be an isolating and devastating experience. You may feel as though you can’t talk to those around you because they either won’t understand or you can’t bring yourself to share your pain. I have extensive experience counseling clients through a variety of grief and loss issues. Whether you are reeling from the death of a loved one, a divorce, or any loss that is significant to you, I would like to help. Anxiety and depression are common issues that cause clients to seek out my help. I would like to be a part of helping you draw upon your strengths to achieve your goals. Melanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and believes that everyone should have access to counseling services. She has worked as a social worker for nearly 13 years. Melanie has a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has extensive experience counseling people through grief and loss, aging issues, trauma, and more. Melanie often uses cognitive behavior therapy and takes a strength-based approach during sessions. However, she has experience utilizing many different counseling theories.
