I work solely with adults. It takes courage to engage in the psychotherapy process. I believe that therapy can have healing effects on peoples’ lives and that emotional health significantly contributes to physical health and well-being. Facing stress, pain and trauma can be scary and I feel fortunate and honored to be able to work with people at difficult and painful times in their lives. I respect the growth process that comes with the work of psychotherapy. In addition to providing therapy in my office, I see people in long term care facilities and in their homes if needed. My therapy approach combines aspects of many theories and I bring the skills that will be most helpful to the person I am directly working with at any given time. I often use mindfulness-based approaches (e.g.,breathwork) in my work. Therapy is a unique experience within which to examine one’s life and make changes that lead to greater life satisfaction. I don’t work with anyone under 20 years old. Depending on the person, our work will focus on relief from sadness, anxiety, isolation, loneliness and interpersonal conflicts. Additionally, therapy also may address experiences of loss and finding value, purpose and meaning of personal identity at different life stages. I look forward to hearing from you.
