Like many modern counselors, I take a holistic and integrative approach to therapy which involves integrating various elements of different theories and practice. I lean most heavily on cognitive behavioral approaches focused on how people’s thinking can change feelings and behaviors and a Humanistic approach focused on helping clients achieve their highest potential. Instead of energy spent on the past or on negative behaviors, I emphasize the goodness in clients and work toward each person’s growth and self-actualization. I also an approach oriented toward problem-solving. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families on issues related to difficult, complicated, or strained family relationships, including marital issues. I am a Master Addictions Counselor and a Certified Clinical Criminal Justice Specialist and am adept at dealing with all types of issues related to addictions and mental health. I greatly appreciate the courage required to seek support for a more fulfilling life. Change can be scary but is also wonderfully empowering and freeing. If you are ready to explore what has held you from experiencing this freedom, I am here to support and empower your efforts and I look forward to working with you!
