Life is a series of changes and challenges which require that we adapt. We may need to alter the path we’re on or find new directions. We may be transitioning into new phases in our lives or need to give up old habits or responses that aren’t working for us. In moving through these times, we may develop anxiety, depression, or poor coping strategies which just don’t work in the long term; sometimes these events make existing mental health concerns more problematic. Therapy offers us an opportunity to address both these symptoms and how we function in our lives. I utilize a variety of interventions and styles to address your concerns in a way which works for you. We'll discuss these approaches in our first session and collaborate on a plan. I have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR for trauma, existentialism, and mindfulness. Getting to know you and the circumstances that affect you is a critical part of the therapeutic experience. We’ll discuss what makes the most sense for you, focusing on the goals you have for yourself. I’d be happy to consult with you by phone to discuss your needs and whether I’m a good fit for you.
