Therapist Overview
As a thirty year veteran in Clinical Social Work, I worked for many years at the premier Harvard teaching hospital for Psychiatry in Boston.. I am an eclectic therapist. My clinical work is based upon a psychodynamic foundation to which I have integrated Cognitive and/or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness and Relaxation Training, Family Systems Models and Coaching. In my initial assessment and subsequent work with each individual, I strive to listen as closely as possible to the feeling experience of the client and help each person develop an understanding and perspective of their life experience. My warmth, expertise and professionalism create an atmosphere in which my clients feel they have a comfortable safe place The issues that bring my clients to therapy include Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Depression, Bipolar, Life Transition Issues, Eating Disorders, Grief, Family/Couples Issues and Geriatric Challenges. I work with Adults, Young Adults and Adolescents. A careful assessment of each individual in the context of their unique situation determines my approach. I welcome all ethnicities, religions and sexual orientations. I find the work to be very special and meaningful and consider it a privilege to participate in the collaborative effort together.
