Who I Serve

I recognize that starting therapy is often a time when one is most vulnerable but also determined about a need for change. It is important that a therapist responds with an offer of a welcoming and safe, yet challenging, space for growth. I have 25+ years of experience treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, grief/loss, trauma, and adjustment reactions. My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic and relational. I am curious about my clients, their current circumstances, and life stories. I do not approach presenting problems uniformly, but understand each client and each therapy as unique. I work at each client’s pace, honor their individual values, get to know their strengths, and what they desire to change. Some problems that people bring to therapy are amenable to short-term interventions, but therapy often involves considering current problems in relation to past experiences, exploring relationships and the development of a sense of self.
