Therapist Overview
“The only way out is through.” This quote captures my belief system and was stated by the legendary psychotherapist Fritz Perls. I feel we must come face to face with addressing the hard things and process all the difficult emotions we are going through in order to create change and come out of it all in a better place. I live and breathe working with children that we at AMANI Clinical Services refer to affectionately as “Littles” or “Itty Bitties” (under 8 years old). I have a wealth of experience and education in early childhood mental health and parent-child relationships. Parental involvement in therapy is vital to helping any child overcome adversity and difficult life challenges. I thoroughly relish in working with kiddos of all ages. I have a great deal of experience working with teens and adults. My goal is to help you transform emotion schemes that you get stuck in that may be contributing to your symptoms. During my doctoral training, I also specialized in working with couples. I focus on the Gottman Method Couples Therapy (https://www.gottman.com/about/the-gottman-method/). I have a very special place in my heart for people who entered their families through adoption (adoptees) and for working with parents who formed their families through adoption.
